According to Fairfield County Weekly, “When Sue Cadwell opened her healthy fast-food emporium three years ago, she could not have known just how well the concept would catch on. But, after winning the Weekly’s top honors for healthy fast food three times running, and after hearing testimonials from her steady clients, she’s convinced she’s done the county right by setting up shop here. “Nobody’s doing organic vegetarian,” Cadwell says. “People come here from California and New York, and they’re traumatized.” Health in a Hurry operates on a three-season menu, with lots of soup and daily hot luncheon specials (a recent addition) in the colder months, and wraps and salads taking over in the spring and summer. A year-round mainstay is a Mexican lentil salad that’s earned a bunch of fans. Other faves include a spicy curried cauliflower, and sweet & sour cole slaw. Cadwell has also branched out into the catering department, providing fare for the Black Rock Art Center’s “Flicks and Food” events and Urban Green’s open houses. Cadwell also let on that she’s planning to open a second outlet in Black Rock–more of a sit-down eatery, so your good health needn’t necessarily feel hurried.”
